Other:  GKD card stock and Martha Stewart glitter

Yellow Blossom

I made this card for a lovely young lady who was graduating from graduate school.  This was the first time I used this color combo and as you can see when you look at my "Thank You" cards, I loved the union. The ribbon was a combination of yellow satin over sheer organza.  Enjoy!

Gratitude In Color

Well, I'm back!  I haven't posted or entered any challenges in a few weeks. The graduation season had me very busy! This post features a group of Thank You cards.  The technique showcases embossing over stamped images, as well as using clear cardstock. I just love how silver coordinates with these colors. Enjoy!

Supplies:
Stamps: Jane's Doodles Pretty Peonies (for focal images on all and sentiment on yellow card), PTI and GKD for sentiments on other two.
Cardstock: PTI clear
Ink: Memento Tangelo, Dandelion, and Lulu Lavender, and Ranger Silver EP.

PTI Make It Monday #111: Watercoloring Embossed Images

For this Make It Monday entry, I embossed with gold EP.  I don't have any reinkers, so I watercolored with Derwent Inktense pencils.  The color of the flowers is violet (looks a little different in the photo).  Thanks for visiting!

Stamps: PTI Delightful Dahlia, Beautiful Butterflies (for sentiment)
Paper: GKD heavy base weight Ivory
Other:  Ranger gold EP, Derwent Inktense pencils

Make It Monday #110: Collage Elements

For this Make It Monday challenge, I stamped tone-on-tone.  I used stamps from PTI, GKD, and Inkadinkado (focal image).  For the focal image, I embossed the image with black EP, then watercolored the wings with watercolor pencils. But I didn't stop there.  I again embossed the colored image with clear EP.  Thanks for visiting!

Runway Inspired Challenge #33 - Red Valentino

For my entry into this  Runway Inspired Challenge, I used the SU Manhattan Florals embossing folder.  I cut out a few sections with a craft knife and replaced them with patterned paper.  I chose to pick up on the gold and black in the inspiration photo.  Enjoy!

Thanks for visiting!

Runway Inspired Challenge #32: Moschino Cheap and Chic

My entry in the Runway Inspired Challenge is an homage to one of my favorite TV shows, "Scandal."  The letters and silver frame are embossed with silver embossing powder.  The scored frame was done on the Martha Stewart scoring board.  The heart was cut with the Silhouette and "glittered" with Martha Stewart glitter.    #whatthehuck?!?

PTI Make it Monday #108: Inked Backgrounds

For this card I dusted off my brayer.  I haven't used it in quite a long time and wanted to try it to get more solid coverage on my background.  For this card I embossed some polka dots onto white cardstock with clear embossing powder.  I brayered on Memento Paris Dusk ink and wiped the excess ink off the clear dots.  Here is the result:

Supplies:
Paper: GKD white
Stamps: Papertrey Ink, GKD(for bottom section of polka dots)
Ink:  Memento Paris Dusk and Tangelo
Other:  brayer, white twine, MS scoring board

PTI Make It Monday #107: Clear Card & Copic Coloring

I call this my "Camouflage" Card.  I'm not sure how this came to me, but I thought how cool would it be to have these butterflies some how blend into the background, while popping off the page?  Well, here is my result:

For the back panel of the card, I thought: "Why should pink have all the fun?"  This was a fun card to make and actually pretty simple, if you can get over cutting into your beautifully colored and stamped focal image.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Hero Arts (focal image), PTI (sentiment, butterflies)
Cardstock:  PTI Kraft, Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse, Clear Cardstock
Copics: RV19, RV17, RV04, YG95, YG25, YG23
Ink: Memento
Other: White embossing powder (focal image), PTI Butterfly Dreams dies

"Fashionable" Card #1

Inspiration is everywhere!  So, if the latest fashions are stretching the budget, dress up a card instead!  This card was inspired by the color scheme in this fashion photo.  I colored the roses using Copics (E44, E42, E41, RV10, R85). I embossed the stamped images with black embossing powder ( it really makes them pop! It also picks up the shiny purse in the photo). As you can see, I don't mind "coloring outside the box" when it comes to floral images. My favorite thing is the button. It's really a white button colored with an E44 Copic and when it dried it created this marbled effect. Way cool! The stamps are both SU (focal) and GKD (background/sentiment). You'll see more of these "fashionable" cards in the very near future.

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge: Two-Toned Flower

Ok, everyone, this is my very first challenge.  I've been at card-making for a year now and it's time to "get out there."  For this challenge, I decided to do the "rock-n-roll" technique.  I've grown to love kraft cardstock and I love red - you can't go wrong with red.

Paper: PTI Kraft Cardstock, GKD Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock
Stamps:  PTI Cutting Garden, GKD Vintage Backgrounds
Ink: Memento Toffee Crunch, Rhubarb Stalk, and Tuxedo Black
Other:  GKD ribbon and Cuttlebug embossing folder
